Get your body back into that prepregnancy shape with this total body core strengthening and flexibility class. A fusion of Yoga and Pilates (pelvic floor based Pilates), ball and glider principals will target and tone your abs, butt, pelvic floor, legs and arms into fine form, while promoting flexibility, mind-body connection and relaxation. BabyWearing Afro-Dance (W18030)

Let the music fuel your body as you feel the African rhythms... all while wearing your baby. This Babywearing Afro-Dance class will combine traditional and modern African dance into a fun and energetic class. This class is low impact. Mothers can safely take this class shortly after they have given birth. We recommend that your child be at least 6 – 8 weeks old, to ensure that your baby has started to be able to support their head and neck. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. Babywearing Afro-Dance is a great workout, and as your baby grows bigger, the workout will intensify! We recommend you bring a water bottle and a change of clothes for your baby. Babywearing Street Dance (W18027)

Join Emilie Phaneuf for a fun low impact street dance class! This class will keep you moving to great music. Emilie will break down moves from various popular street dances such as Hip Hop, Reggaeton, Dancehall... We recommend that your child be at least 3 months old; by that time a mother has normally recovered enough to begin exercising. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. Wear running shoes for the class.

Babywearing Ballet (W18029)

Wednesdays 10:45 - 11:45 am Jan 10 - Mar 7 $129 (9 classes) or $17 (drop-in)

Whether you have danced ballet in the past or you’ve only dreamt of it, Babywearing Ballet class is open to everyone. This program will whip you back into shape while sharing time with your baby. This parent and baby class is similar to regular ballet classes: warm-ups, barre exercises (pliés, tendus, dégagés...), centre exercises (port de bras, adage, combinations). All exercises are low impact and especially designed for the parent and baby. Special attention will be given to muscle toning and stretching particular to ballet training. We recommend that your child be at least 6 weeks old. Wear comfortable clothing like yoga pants, leggings or tights. You can do the class barefoot, in no-slip socks or ballet slippers. Make sure you bring your own baby carrier to class. Instructor: Esther America

Boxing Level 1 (W18500)

Want to feel good, look good AND learn a new skill? Then boxing at the Glebe CC is for you! Intro to Boxing will teach you proper techniques while working up a sweat. If you experience any of the following, please contact your friends, co-workers and family members to join immediately! Warning signs & symptoms may include the following:

Boxing Level 2 (W18501)

Fridays 7:00 - 8:00 pm Jan 12 - Apr 6 $140 (12 classes)

This program will develop offence & defence skills by applying advanced techniques. Participants will learn tactics such as; body punching, slipping punches, feinting punches, duck & rolling punches and counter punching. A knowledge of the basic fundamentals of boxing is required to take this class. The first half of the class will typically begin with a 10 minute warm-up (skipping, jogging, etc), followed by learning new skills and practicing with a partner. The class will end with a few conditioning drills which may include punching the focus mitts & a variety of body weight exercises concentrating on core, legs, back & chest. Equipment is provided (Boxing Gloves, Focus Mitts & Hand Wraps).

Boxing Sparring Level 3 (W18502)

Fridays 8:00 - 9:00 pm Jan 12 - Apr 6 $140 (12 classes)

This class will separate the amateurs from the pros. Level 3 is an intro to sparring. Participants will have the opportunity to practice what they were taught in Levels 1 & 2 against a live opponent. Light contact sparring drills will be practiced to develop punches, combinations and defensive skill. This program focuses on strategy and tactics which will ultimately improve hand and eye coordination. The class will begin with a 10 minute warm-up (skipping, shadow boxing) followed by detailed instructions and practicing specific drills with a partner. Sparring gear is mandatory and is provided (Head Guard with Face Shield and 16 oz Sparring Gloves). However, participants are able to bring their own equipment from home. 

Adult Water Polo (W18503)

Our Polo for Life™ program is designed to teach basic water polo skills and strategies of the game to adults. Time in the pool is spent on learning and practicing skills and scrimmaging in a fun environment. This program is designed for all levels and involves having fun, making new friends, and lots of laughter all while playing a great water sport. No previous experience is  equired for this program. Location: Brewer pool

Salsaton - all levels (W18508)

Salsa & Reggaeton! This class is about adding spice to how you dance, whether you dance as your workout, to build up your confidence on the dance floor or just to have fun! Emilie will be giving lots of options for everyone to feel comfortable. Bring dance shoes or athletic shoes with clean soles. Drop-ins are welcome throughout the session. 

Street Dance (HIP HOP) - all levels (W18509)

Not sure which dance class to take this session? Emilie will break down hot moves from various popular street dances such as Hip Hop, House, Reggaeton, Dancehall, Salsaton…Street dances are all about creativity, confidence, expression and attitude. You will learn hot moves and also work on a choreography that will incorporate all these funky dance styles. This is an all level class where options will be given so everyone feels comfortable - and it’s a great fun workout too! Instructor: Emilie Phaneuf

Originating from the beautiful island of Jamaica and spreading rapidly on a global scale, Dancehall has made a huge impact on the dance community. Reggaeton is a fusion of Hip Hop/Reggae movements with Latino rhythms. It is a free style that is sensual, energetic & fun. This class will emphasize body isolations focusing on core strength & movement, and will teach you a combination of hot moves and an energetic routine that will give you a great workout – and make you more confident on the dance floor. With its popularity rapidly on the rise worldwide, you won't want to miss out on this captivating craze!

Bring Back The 90's - all levels (W18512)

Bringing back the great hits from the 90s and early 2000s! Street styles ranging from Hip Hop to Vogue to House just to name a few. This is an all level class where options will be given so everyone feels comfortable - and it’s a great workout too! Drop ins are welcome throughout the session. Swing Dance with Side Street Swing! (W18507)

Learn swing dancing with Side Street Swing! The Lindy Hop is an exciting, athletic dance that has its origins in African American communities in New York City, and dates back to the 1930s. This dance is all about joy, expression, and having fun with your partner! In this 15 week class you will learn the fundamental concepts and connections of Lindy Hop, as well as some movement repertoire and some basic history of the dance. We'll also throw in some Charleston for good measure, and then teach you how to make the dance your own with personal stylings. After this class, you will able to go out and social dance on a variety of styles and tempos, and with lots of different people! No partner is required for this intro class.
