open for members whenever the Centre is open, not including class time. Applications for memberships
are available at the front desk of the Glebe Community Centre. We can also email an application

PRIVATE, SEMI-PRIVATE & SMALL GROUP LESSONS
GNAG Pottery Studio offers private, semi-private and small group lessons for those who want to learn how to pot, improve their pottery skills, or work out a specific pottery problem. We provide 6 hours (3 sessions of 2 hours each) of professional instruction in all aspects of pottery -- hand-building, sculpting, wheel throwing, glazing and firing. Cost includes one bag of clay divided by the number of participants.

CHILDREN'S POTTERY for ages 6 - 9 & 9 - 13 years: Be artistic and creative through the medium of clay. Everyone will complete at least three projects, and learn the basics of preparing and hand-building with clay during this 11-week course. The class for older children will emphasize CLAY AROUND THE WORLD. Students will use modern and historical clay works to inspire class projects. Each project will address basic clay-building techniques, respecting the style in which the piece was originally built. All children's classes include the cost of clay.
TEEN WHEEL for ages 12 - 15 years: This is a good basic Level 1 program for teens. They will enjoy experiencing the challenge and creative possibilities of the pottery wheel.
FAMILY POTTERY: Spend an afternoon with your child and create with clay. First two family members $141.00 each. Additional family member, $62.00 each. This course includes family collaborative projects as well as individual projects. Please inquire at the Glebe Community Centre to find out how to register an additional family member.
LEVEL 1 WHEEL: Introduction to wheel . Learn how to make pots on the wheel - learn to centre clay and make bowls and cylinders. Basic glazing and decorating techniques will also be covered.
LEVEL 2 WHEEL: Intermediate wheel. Take your pottery to the next level. Learn to make casseroles, plates and teapots. Knowledge and comfort with centering clay and making bowls and cylinders is recommended prerequisite.
ALL LEVELS WHEEL: Learn or advance your skills on the potter's wheel. This 10-week course offers a small group format to allow for plenty of individual attention.
POTTERY COMBO: Beginners to advanced students will enjoy lively demonstrations, and will be introduced to practical methods of hand-building and wheel work.
Additional information about adult classes:
Adult classes do not include clay. Cost per bag is $25.00 and must be purchased at the Centre. Participants who are registered in an adult pottery course are invited to sign up for extra studio time club membership at the discretion of their instructor. $25.00 will allow you to access the studio for up to 10 hours during non-class times. Inquire at the Glebe Community Centre for more details. Extra time membership cards for the winter session expire June 22, 2009
