SUMMER OUTDOOR SOCCER (2 - 7 years)

Sportball focuses on the fundamentals of soccer: throw-ins, kicking, dribbling and goalie skills.  Children are taught to apply soccer skills successfully and confidently in soccer games.  All classes will take place at Lansdowne field at the Lansdowne wading pool.  Your registration includes a team jersey and your very own soccerball. FAMILY TAEKWON-DO (7 years - Adult)

Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art developed by General Choi. Classes consist of warm-ups, sparring, patterns, self-defence and meditation. Taekwon-Do offers numerous opportunities to attend seminars, workshops and tournaments, according to individual preferences.  Instruction is provided by Mr. Chris Harnett, 3rd Degree Black Belt of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF).

Summer Capoeira (5 years - adult)

Capoeira brings together martial arts, music and dance.  It is an Afro-Brazilan art form that is thrilling and fun!  This class develops strong cardio, concentration and cultural awareness.  Instructor: Chrys Courchene

Boot Camp   Pam Henault, Jules Hilliker and Mary Tsai-Davies are excited to offer a total body-conditioning workout designed to challenge your body and the way you think about exercise. Calisthenics, body weight exercises and the Tabata method are only a few of the innovative ways used to motivate all levels of fitness.  This results-driven hour will help you lose inches, build strength and increase your endurance in a safe, fun and motivating environment.

Hatha Yoga    Hatha Yoga tries to achieve balance between body and mind, as well as attempts to free the more subtle spiritual elements of the mind through physical poses or Asanas, Breathing Techniques or Pranayama, and Meditation. Relax and rejuvenate with Hatha Yoga!  It is an excellent way to manage stress, improve strength, flexibility and concentration. This class is suitable for all levels and is an excellent compliment to your workout.

TMC  Total Muscular Strength & Conditioning - this is an all-over muscle and bone-strengthening class using body bars, hand weights, dynabands and exercise balls.

Trifit  This class provides you with a combination of low impact, step, muscle strength and endurance, and stretch.

Interval   Low to high intensity cardio exercises.  Strength training is incorporated in between each cardio portion

SUMMER HATHA YOGA

Join us for an energized Yoga practice through the utilization of challenging postures that create power, strength, stamina, toning and inreased flexibility.  Challenge your mind and body as your spirit soars, welcoming innner and outer strength.  Instructor: Gill Melki

Introduction to Stand Up Paddleboard program is our mandatory initial course. It is a great way to get your feet wet with the world's fastest growing water sport. This course is ideal for those interested in finding out more about this super fun sport. Participants will take away the knowledge and skills necessary to either take up SUP on their own or to further progress with us
to the other many aspects of SUP. We cover how to safely care for your board, how to balance and paddle efficiently on calm sheltered waters. Classes take place at Westboro Beach.

Take your fitness level up a notch by taking this kick-ass paddle fitness program combining dry land and on water training. The work out fuses Yoga, Pilates, core strength, and balance exercises to challenge your midsection and increase your body balance and muscle tone. Your core muscles engage like never before as you develop total body control and balance. Amazing as a cross training workout, and great for all levels of fitness! The fastest growing water sport is a great way to spend quality time as a family doing something active and fun! SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding) Family classes are designed to accommodate parents who would like to have their children with them on a board. We also offer children 10 and older a chance to get on their own boards and ride next to their parent(s). We specify SUP water safety, use of equipment and the many ways that you can add SUP’ing to your family fun. This is a great introductory opportunity for the whole family or one parent with children to get their feet wet with SUP.
Parents are encouraged to bring their own child's life jacket to each session. Classes take place at Westboro beach.

Hip Hop - This class is designed to teach participants beginner and intermediate hip hop moves and choreography.  New choreography and music will be introduced each week in a pressure free, fun environment.  

Ballet – Ballet barre, centre work and across the floor, this class will teach you basic ballet skills. Refer to chart above for levels.

Contemporary dance -  Contemporary dance is a style that incorporates current movements in dance. Each week, dancers will work on freestyle, flexibility and choreography.

Jazz - Jazz is a form of dance that showcases the dancer's individual style and originality. Every jazz dancer interprets and executes moves and steps in their own way. Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns.

Acro - One of our newest dance classes being offered this Spring is Acro! Acro dance combines classical ballet technique with acrobatic elements. It’s a popular style seen on many television shows today, as well as professional companies like Cirque du Soleil!

Belly Dance - Develop fluidity, grace and strength in this low-impact activity that targets isolated  muscle groups.  Belly Dancing is a great way to improve posture, flexibility and balance.

Reggaeton (Beginner) - Reggaeton is a fusion of Hip Hop/Reggae movements with Latino rhythms.  It is a free style that is sensual, energetic & fun.  This class will emphasize body isolations focusing on core strength & movement, and will teach you a combination of hot moves and an energetic routine that will give you a great workout – and make you more confident on the dance floor.  With its popularity rapidly on the rise world-wide, you won’t want to miss out on this captivating craze!  Instructor: Emilie Phaneuf

Reggaeton (Intermediate) - For students who have taken Emilie’s Reggaeton Beginner class or have taken Hip Hop and Latin classes.  This class will teach you a combination of hot moves and an energetic routine full of fresh, street-smart choreography, dancing to the hottest music.  Get ready for an energetic & challenging class! SUMMER 2013 LANDSCAPE WORKSHOP with Bhat Boy

This two-day landscape workshop will include the completion of two projects (more for those students who paint faster). Subject matter will include trees and water.  Class will be held outdoors, weather permitting, at the Community Centre if it rains.  A light meal will be served with tea at 2 pm to prevent my delicate students from fading.
