on April 5, 2013, 7:00 pm at the Glebe Community Centre’s pub night?
Learn how to work as an ensemble while perfecting your musical skills. You may have a chance to perform at the
RBC Bluesfest this summer. Pre-requisite to “Be In The Band” is a minimum of one year of lessons with your instrument.
Meet, greet and evaluation: Tuesday January 8, 2013 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Rehearsals are either Fridays or Saturdays: January 11 - March 23 (ex March 8 & 9)
Days and time are to be determined after the meet and greet.
Tuition: $95 includes backline equipment, two rehearsals per week along with
professional music instructors. Detailed information will be sent to you upon registration. (Ottawa)
Note for students and parents: occasionally, students aren’t quite technically ready for playing in a band despite having taken lessons for a year or more. The main issue is always timing and confidence. Students should at the very least be able to play for extended periods of time in sync with a metronome, while changing chords/notes for guitarists/bassists, or playing a basic extended rock beat for drummers. Students who are evaluated as not quite ready will be put into a study group for the duration of Be in the Band 2013, with the intention of getting them ready for a performance if possible, or simply to hone their skills for the following year.
